Your first week is when the routine takes shape. Here’s what most people notice - and how to make it easier.

Days 1–2: pressure

Your teeth may feel tight or tender. That’s a sign the aligners are working. It usually eases as you get used to each new set.

Days 2–4: speech

Some people notice a slight lisp at first. Talking, reading aloud and simply wearing your aligners helps your tongue adjust quickly.

Eating and drinking

Take your aligners out to eat and to drink anything other than water. Brush or rinse before putting them back in, so food isn’t trapped against your teeth.

  1. Keep your case with youSo your aligners always have somewhere safe to go.
  2. Plan your mealsFewer snacks means more wear time.
  3. Use the NextGen appTrack your wear time and keep your routine on track.
