One of the most common questions is how much time treatment will take out of your time. With NextGen Alygn, care is digital-first and locally supported - so most treatments need just three or four practice visits, and your routine carries on in between.

Your first visit · Live assessment & 3D scan

Everything starts with a clinical assessment at a partner practice near you. This usually includes a digital scan of your teeth and photos, so an orthodontist can prepare your treatment plan.

Your second visit · Starting treatment

Once your plan is ready, you receive your Smile 2.0 Kit. Your partner dentist checks that your aligners fit and explains how to wear and care for them. If your plan includes attachments, they’re placed at this stage.

Your final visit

When active treatment ends, your dentist reviews your results and talks you through your retainer, which is included in your package at no extra charge.

Mid-treatment · Only if needed

Your partner dentist can follow your progress through the NextGen 22 app, so a mid-treatment visit is only needed if something needs a closer look. If it does, your dentist will get in touch and invite you in.

Between visits

  1. Track your wear timeThe NextGen 22 app shows how many hours you’ve worn your aligners.
  2. Change on timeReminders tell you when to switch to your next set.
  3. Ask questions any timeMessage the NextGen team through the app.
